What People Say

Jenn is not only an incredibly talented illustrator, but she is also fantastic to work with. I work at a research institution, and scientists here are accustomed to many iterations on projects – lots of “what if we did this” and “let’s try that.” Jenn rolled with the process while meeting constant tight deadlines. She was patient and experimental and graceful enough not to point out that we always ended up back where she’d started with us.

Jenn is the most competent artist I have worked with, especially when working on projects for scientists and ‘their’ creative process. She gets it! Jenn was such a delight and professional to work through projects. She had great ideas and techniques for telling our story. The finished project was a real piece of art – not just an illustration. Our final infographic conveyed a complicated message through her work.

Scientific illustration too often repels the public with its complexity instead of drawing them in to the beauty of the subject. Jenn’s work captures the beauty that draws a scientist to dedicate herself deeply into a subject, conveying complexity in manageable and engaging ways. We didn’t feel we needn’t to compromise the content of our scientific subject in working with Jenn. She wove it into an intricate story about networked system science in the high Arctic.

Jenn Glaser did remarkable work for us in illustrating our study of the impacts of unconventional oil and gas operations on air and water resources. Her work will help us with outreach to policy makers and to the public. The graphics that she created are visually appealing and technically representative.

Jenn is a true artist, and Scribe Arts was the perfect fit for our project. Jenn designed custom figures for us that made technical scientific information both beautiful and accessible to any audience. Jenn went the extra mile on our project design and Final Summary Report layout. This final product is the most professional design work we’ve ever had done. Jenn is highly responsive to input and a pleasure to work and communicate with! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Scribe Arts for any scientific art, communication or design needs.

It was a pleasure working with Jenn Glaser of Scribe Arts on several graphics and the print-report design for the AirWaterGas Sustainability Network Research Findings Report based at the University of Colorado Boulder. Jenn is highly organized and kept us on task to complete a top-notch product. Her passion and skill in illustrating scientific concepts are invaluable. She was able to use her background in graphic design to help us communicate technical scientific information in a very accessible way. I would highly recommend working with Jenn to anyone – she is wonderful!!

We used Jenn’s graphics on air emissions and water use in a summary report for our NSF-funded research network on oil and gas development. Her graphics were the featured illustrations – they conveyed key concepts and concerns in a way that photographs could not, and they added a professional style to the report that we expect readers will remember and appreciate.

Jenn Glaser worked with our Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) international organization on a project funded by USAID under its Combating Zika and Future Threats Grand Challenge. As part of IGES’s Mosquito Challenge Community Campaign being piloted in Brazil and Peru, Jenn developed scientific illustrations for eLearning materials and educational games. These resources are targeted for international audiences (and will be used far beyond the pilot project), and thus design was critical to universally communicating content. In addition to producing beautiful work that effectively communicates science concepts, Jenn is a consummate professional who meets deadlines and works within budget. It is a pleasure to work with her!

In 2016 Jenn Glaser was hired as illustrator for a set of eTraining modules that now serve as online instruction for K-12 educators and students who ware part of The GLOBE Program, a NASA-sponsored international earth science education program. The eTraining modules focus on training protocols for several areas of Earth system science, the foundational underpinning of GLOBE. I was involved in the review process and Jenn’s superb illustrations immediately caught my attention. They were elegant and precise; just what I wanted for another project I was leading, so I hired Jenn for a second round within our organization. This was a presentation for a critical review of our progress over the previous three years, to obtain continued NASA funding. In short order, Jenn fell right in and produced exactly the look and feel I was hoping for. Her design and color sense is impeccable. Her attention to detail, as well as her genuine desire to please, made the entire process a joy. Jenn is a very talented illustrator, patient beyond measure and committed to delivering her best work, whatever the project may be. She has my strongest recommendation.

Jenn Paul Glaser of Scribe Arts for Our Planet, Oceans and Fisheries, is a competent and detailed scientific illustrator not only because of her technical graphic skills, but also because of the detailed background research and information that she independently gathered to ensure she fully understood the scientific message that NOAA wished to visually convey. Jenn also scheduled multiple one-on-one meetings to consult with scientists and public outreach staff after a first draft was developed, to make sure that a wide range of audiences would receive not only visually appealing but also technically complex and correct information.

Within the School Programs Department of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science (DMNS), Jenn and I worked together for four months on a large grant writing project. Her research was thorough yet easily digestible, which made sharing out the research that much easier. Jenn’s writing skills, as well as her collegial teamwork with multiple partners at Denver-area schools and cultural institutions, turned our program ideas and concepts into a narrative that provided a meaningful portrayal of the program’s intended outcomes and impacts. Jenn’s research and writing skills played a large role in the success of our program. This was an early but important step in a lengthy process ultimately leading to a $3.27 million National Science Foundation award establishing the Metro-Denver Urban Advantage program that now reaches more than 3000 middle school students (27 teachers, grades 6-8) working with Denver Public Schools participating via the DMNS, the Denver Zoo, and the Denver Botanic Gardens.
